THE STORY
Ja’Kiem Crayon is an entrepreneur, creative director, and fashion innovator from Albany, New York. His work is rooted in resilience, creativity, and a lifelong passion for the arts.
Recognized early for his artistic talent, Crayon earned multiple awards at Franklin Magnet Academy in Syracuse, New York, where he also created set designs and a notable glass mural for the B.O.S.T. Museum. He continued developing his craft through mural work and active involvement in extracurriculars.
In high school, he expanded into fashion—producing shows, studying art history, and gaining early experience in customer service and event coordination. He later studied fashion design at the Art Institute of New York City and went on to style for designers and brands including Rhandi Rahm, Patricia Nash, Old Navy, Vans, The Gap, and Brooklyn Fashion Week. In 2016, he won first place in the King Plaza Mall Earth Day Fashion Challenge.
Crayon has since produced many independent fashion shows and events, creating opportunities for more than 150 creatives during the COVID pandemic. Today, he continues to merge art, fashion, and entrepreneurship to build platforms that elevate emerging talent.
